Attention wine lovers! Get ready to embark on a breathtaking journey through the winelands of the South African Cape. Learn all about the process of making fine wines, from the vineyard to the bottle, and visit the historical towns of Stellenbosch, Franschoek & Paarl.
This tour takes you to 3 wine growing regions namely Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Parl. These towns are historic and play a part in the history of South Africa.
Stellenbosch/Zewenwacht
The Stellenbosch winelands, just 20 minutes away from the city of Cape Town, offer a superb scenery, completely different from the landscape of the Cape peninsula.
Wine Tasting at Zewenwacht :Savour the pleasure of sampling wines on their home ground, within sight of the barrel cellar in which they were produced and matured. Experience first-hand the artistry and technical skill that transform grapes into fine wine. You will have their famous Cheese and Wine Pairing Tasting of four wines paired with four cheeses
Franschoek/Marianne Wine Estate
Franschoek (“the French Corner”) is an old Huguenot village. With its numerous streets and estates with french names, the town will disorient you, making you wonder whether you have been transported to France in another era. You will enjoy the Madiba’s wine Tasting. The Madiba Tasting takes you on a vertical flight of four vintages of our flagship wine, Floreal. The very first vintage produced, was served at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday at Buckingham Palace. Cellar Tour
The Cellar Tour is an experience of 15 to 30 min during which you will enjoy the explanations about the production process from harvest to the bottling.
Drakenstein Prison Pitstop
Drakenstein is a low-security prison between Paarl and Franschhoek. The prison is famous as the place where Nelson Mandela spent the last part of his imprisonment for campaigning against apartheid. You will briefly stop here .
Paarl/KWV Experience
The town of Paarl offers a fascinating window into Afrikaner culture and tradition. As a former haven of the Huguenots pioneers who came from Europe at the beginning of the 17th century after the Edict of Nantes, the town boasts a monument dedicated to the Huguenots. Here you will have your final tour.The Cathedral Cellar has been the playground of some of South Africa’s legendary winemakers and industry stalwarts.Step into the cellar and journey with us as we share this beautiful space’s engraved legacy.A specialised tour guide will take visitors through a barrel maturation cellar, to the world-renowned Cathedral Cellar. The tour ends with an informal tasting of six products.
